COURSE INFORMATION
This program sets you up with the must-have skills to kickstart a cool career in the design world. Dive into exciting projects that will push your practical skills and design know-how to the next level. With subjects woven together, you'll tackle assessments for different areas within single projects. Expect hands-on design projects as the main focus, spiced up with a sprinkle of written assessments.
- You'll acquire and enhance hands-on woodworking expertise, research abilities, design history comprehension, and model-making proficiency.
- Additionally, the course emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving, collaborative teamwork, presentation capabilities, and the development of digital and technical skills, along with fostering effective communication abilities.
- The course would be Tuesday and Thursday 2pm till 4pm.
- Starting the last week in August for 30 weeks.

One of the following:
- Four National 4s to include English, Graphic Communications, and Craft and Design and/or Art and Design
- Certificate: Art and Design
- Another relevant qualification at SCQF Level 4
- Completion of this course may lead to any of our NC courses: NC Furniture, NC Architecture with Interiors or NC Built Environment which may then progress to any of our Built Environment HNC level courses.
- Our HN level courses are linked with many Scottish Universities offering direct entry where we have agreed articulation routes and minimum entry requirements are met.
- There are lots of opportunities to work in this area and with further study you could start your dream career in 3D design as a product designer, interior designer or furniture designer.
- These also include lesser known specialisms such as an exhibition designer and visual merchandiser or could even be the starting point of a career in civil engineering or quantity surveying.
