Changeover from Natural Gas to LPG (CONGLP1)

This course is designed to update experienced gas engineers enabling them to prove their competence in the ACS assessments in the field of Liquid Petroleum Gas. The programme is also available to experienced gas engineers who wish to extend their competencies to include LPG. Initial candidates should note that additional time in centre may be required.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at qualified LPG engineers wishing to renew their ACS category, or for Initial candidates wishing to extend their range to include LPG.

What will I learn on the course?

The Liquid Petroleum Gas (Changeover) Permanent Dwellings, Residential Park Homes and Leisure Accommodation Vehicles course is delivered over two days and comprises the following core competencies:
  • Gas safety regulations;
  • LPG origin and properties;
  • Safety with LPG;
  • Pipe sizing;
  • Pressure loss calculations;
  • Pipe installation;
  • Soundness testing;
  • Ventilation for caravans;
  • Practical exercises; Types of regulators and faults and Air tests and pressure lost tests.

Certificates are valid for five years. Holders are eligible for reassessment within six months of expiry. ** Candidates should contact Centre staff for current regulatory requirements regarding training for Initial and Reassessment programs**
