Graduation

Graduates, we can't wait to celebrate with you! Our Graduation ceremonies for our 2023/24 students will take place on Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 November 2024.

This year will see ceremonies take place two locations, utilising two magnificent venues of Dunfermline Abbey and St Bryce Kirk in Kirkcaldy, and students have been invited to a ceremony dependant on their base location.

Registration for this year's ceremonies has now closed and we are excited to be welcoming over 500 of you to celebrate with us.

Here you will find some key information to help you prepare for the day.

What happens on the day

We can't wait to welcome you to what is sure to be an exciting celebration. There are a couple of things you will need to do when you arrive. Our team will be on hand on the day to direct you, but it may be helpful to take a note of the following key locations:

Dunfermline Abbey, Tuesday 5 November 2024: Ceremonies 1 and 2

Registration: Dunfermline Library

Robing: Dunfermline Library

Photography: Dunfermline Library

Kirkcaldy St. Bryce Kirk, Thursday 7 November 2024: Ceremonies 3 and 4

Registration: St Bryce Kirk Lobby

Robing: Kirkcaldy Campus

Photography: Kirkcaldy Campus

Registration opens ninety minutes before the ceremony start time. We ask that all Graduates and guests are seated at least 20 minutes before the ceremony starts, so please make sure you allow yourself enough time to register, collect your robe and find your seat. You can choose to have any professional photographs you have booked taken before or after your ceremony.

Take a look at our helpful '8 steps to Graduate ' video to help give you an idea of how the day will run.

Robing

Book your robe directly with our suppliers and it will be ready for you to collect on the day. You should book your robe by Tuesday, 29 October. Robes can be booked here.

Photography

If you would like professional photographs taken on the day, you can book a package directly through our suppliers. Book your photography here.

Your Graduation FAQs

Dunfermline

On street parking around Dunfermline Abbey and Dunfermline Library is available on St Catherines Wynd and Kirkgate/Maygate directly around both venues but there is also car parks on St Margarets Street, Canmore Street and Chalmers Street.

Kirkcaldy

Parking around St Bryce Kirk and the Kirkcaldy Campus is limited, with most on street parking allowing only 30 minutes. Parking is available at nearby Postings Car Park (KY1 1ED), Thistle Car Park (KY1 1NH) and Kirkcaldy Train Station (KY1 1NL). We would recommend allowing yourself enough time to find a space and make your way to the venue. Please do not try to enter the College car park without prior agreement as you will not be permitted entry. The train station is very close by which could allow for a sustainable option, or you could car share with your fellow graduates to reduce the amount of cars.

The ceremony will last for 45 minutes to one hour. After the ceremony, you will be invited over to the Atrium of the Kirkcaldy Campus to enjoy a drinks' reception with your fellow Graduates.

Robes are optional, however most Graduates choose to wear one. These can be hired directly from our supplier, Ede and Ravenscroft, for the cost of £20 per robe. Robes can be booked here

If you have any concerns about the cost of your robe, please get in touch with us on Graduation@fife.ac.uk.

Our robing company, Ede and Ravenscroft, have produced a drop down menu where you can select your ceremony date and time, choose your course and it will automatically apply the correct robe for your course.

Please try to complete your robing using an alternative device (if you have access to one). If this still does not work, please email Graduation@fife.ac.uk.

Each Graduate is offered spaces for up to two guests during registration. If you would like to bring more than two guests, you can book additional tickets here.

If you would like to book additional guest tickets, this can be done here.

Ceremony 4 - none available; maximum capacity

Yes. We asked during registration for any accessibility requirements for you or your guests so have a note of those provided. If there are any additional requirements or you wanted to inform us of something new, please let us know by emailing Graduation@fife.ac.uk.

Please email Graduation@fife.ac.uk with your name, student ID and course title so we can look into this for you.

Please email Graduation@fife.ac.uk so we can remove you from the ceremony lists.

All Graduates will be handed a scroll tube as they cross the stage to commemorate their Graduation. Graduates from 2023/2 will receive a certificate and should collect these after their Graduation ceremony.

We have a professional photographer attending on the day and Graduates can book in to have their photo taken. There are a range of packages available, and these can be booked directly here. We will also have a photographer there throughout the ceremony to take photos.

We will have a photographer capturing moments throughout the day, which we may then share online or use publicly. If you do not want your image used in this way, please make this clear to us during registration so we can provide you with a lanyard to identify you to our photographer so they can ensure you are eliminated from all photos.

Due to space within the upstairs area of the Kirk, buggies and pushchairs need to be left at the entrance downstairs, with babies/children then carried or walked up the stairs (a lift is also available). We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause. Babies/children can be returned to their buggy/pushchair after the ceremony and the Atrium (reception area) is large enough for them to remain in these for the remainder of your celebration.

Get in touch with us at Graduation@fife.ac.uk to find out more and we will be in touch with all the details.
