With the opportunity to interview with some of the biggest names in the construction industry on successful completion of the course, the CECA Academy at Fife College is ideal for anyone looking to re-train, upskill or begin a career within the civil engineering industry.A job in this industry can often require travel across Scotland, therefore it is recommended that applicants hold a valid UK driving licence.
What skills will I learn?
- As part of this course you will learn practical skills associated with Road Drainage, Laying Kerbing, Laying and Finishing Concrete and Temporary Excavation Support
- As this is a pathway to work programme, you will regularly engage with industry partners throughout the course learning key employability skills.
- This course is delivered outside on an area identified as a construction site, you will therefore learn key health and safety skills required for a successful career in the construction industry.
- On successful completion of the course, candidates will participate in an interview workshop with key local employers gaining the communication skills required for successful employment in the future.

- There will be some written assessments at the end of each unit as well as the practical.
