Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1)

This course is designed to update experienced gas engineers to enable them to prove their competence in the ACS assessments in the field of Core Commercial Natural Gas Safety. The programme is also available to experienced gas engineers who wish to extend their competencies to include commercial appliances. Initial candidates should note that additional time in centre and additional assessment will be required.

Who is this course for?

This program is aimed at engineers wishing to expand into commercial industrial areas of gas work and also for those wishing to renew existing ACS tickets

What will I learn on the course?

The Core Commercial Natural Gas Safety course is delivered over three days and comprises the following core competencies:
  • Gas Safety Legislation and Regulations;
  • Gas Emergency Actions;
  • Controls and Procedures;
  • Combustion Standards;
  • Commercial ventilation and flueing requirements;
  • Pipework Installation;
  • Checking and setting commercial supply and meter regulators;
  • Checking and setting commercial appliance pressures;
  • Appliance safety devices and controls and re-establishing supplies.

Certificates are valid for five years. Holders are eligible for reassessment within six months of expiry. ** Candidates should contact Centre staff for current regulatory requirements regarding training for Initial and Reassessment programs**
