Duration:

  • This HND Year is Year 2 of the HND Media and Communication course.
  • It lasts one Academic Year full-time, starting in September and finishing in June and is normally timetabled over 2 to 3 days on campus attendance.

Who is this course for?

  • This is the final year of the HND and is for students who have successfully completed the HNC Media and Communication course at Fife College or elsewhere. A hands-on highly practical course preparing you for employment or degree-level study at the university. This HND is equivalent to Year 2 of a University Degree.

What skills will I learn?

You will acquire a broad range of knowledge and skills for successful employment in Media and Communication careers in the Creative Industries Working on your own and working with others you will interpret briefs, create content and deliver/ present finished products.

What will I study?

  • You will develop practical Media Industry skills including; content creation, promoting and pitching, research and analysis. This will be achieved through hands-on real-life projects that prepare you for Industry or degree-level study. Specific Units cover; Podcasting and Radio Production, Film/ TV/ Video Production, Social Media, Communication Theory, Research Skills, Oral Presentation, Editing and Proofreading Text, Interviewing Skills, Writing for the Media
