Next Steps: Skills Builder (School Pupils Only)

This course is designed to equip students with the essential skills and readiness needed for a successful transition to college in their final year of high school. It is intended to prepare them for advancement into the full-time Intermediate Award: Personal Development and Personal Achievement programs. Specifically tailored for individuals with additional support needs, this transition course aims to support students in reaching their personal goals and fostering independence while in college. Participants will have the chance to enhance their current skills and capabilities.

Duration:

  • One half day until October break
  • One full day from October until June
  • One academic year.

What skills will I learn?

Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their current skills and capabilities through a series of key units that are designed to prepare them for full-time college enrolment the following year. The course provides a variety of practical and classroom-based subjects, allowing students to explore different aspects of college and learn about opportunities for future courses.
