Progress to a degree
Did you know that studying for an HNC or HND qualification is the equivalent of first year (HNC) or second year (HND) of a degree at university? Our courses provide articulation routes for direct entry to either year 2 or 3 of a related degree at a wide range of our partner universities.
So studying at Fife College can be a more cost-effective, local alternative route to the same degree in Scotland, in the same amount of time!

Advanced Certificate: Art and Design SCQF Level 6
This amazing course lets you develop your artistic skills and grow your confidence in a wide range of activities and topics.Learn about influential artists and expand your knowledge and awareness in the fantastic world of Art. It is expected that on completion of this course you will want to continue your studies and join our HNC/D Art & Design course.
HNC: Art and Design
This course offers a diverse creative arts curriculum covering life drawing, painting, 2D/3D design, printmaking, and mixed media. Participants develop portfolios and exhibit their work, preparing for employment or higher education. It's suitable for school leavers with Higher Art and Design or experienced adult returners in art.
HND: Art and Design SCQF Level 8
This course allows you to study a variety of creative arts including life drawing, painting, 2D and 3D design skills, printmaking, and mixed media. During the course, you will develop a substantial portfolio and also take part in an exhibition of your own work, which will all help prepare for employment or your next step to Higher Education. This course is suitable for school leavers who have studied Higher Art and Design as well as adult returners who have considerable art experience.
Intermediate Certificate: Art and Design Portfolio
This broad art portfolio course gives you an excellent grounding in the area of visual arts. If you have studied at National 4 level and wish to progress to further study, or if you have Higher results and want time to prepare a substantial portfolio for entry to art college or HN level study, this is the course for you. It is expected that on completion of this course you will progress on to Advanced Certificate: Art and Design: SCQF Level 6.
HNC: Jewellery
This course provides extensive training in jewellery design and manufacturing, featuring design-led projects to develop specialised skills suited to personal interests and industry demands. Participants learn 3D design with software, haptic control, and 3D printing, fostering creativity through practical, traditional techniques.
Advanced Certificate: Jewellery
This course is suitable for those with a recognised ability in art and/or design who wish to study a jewellery specialism. It provides you with a strong foundation in the design and manufacture of contemporary jewellery.
HND: Jewellery
This course provides extensive training in jewellery design and manufacturing, featuring design-led projects for specialisation. It introduces 3D design through software, haptic control, and 3D printing, emphasizing hands-on, practical learning rooted in traditional techniques to foster creativity and imagination.
