COURSE INFORMATION
This course is aimed to provide novice truck operators with the practical skills for the safe and efficient operation of a counterbalanced operated forklift truck. On competing the course participants will be able to operate a forklift truck safely; give due care and attention to the load being handled and give due care to personnel and equipment in the vicinity
The training within the Fife College certificated course follows a carefully devised programme to ensure that each stage is presented in a logical sequence. There are both written and practical tests to conclude the course.

- Health and Safety
- Controls and Instruments
- Basic Manoeuvres
- Lift Truck Stability
- Hydraulic System and Controls
- Load Weight Assessment
- Vehicle Loading and Unloading
- Working in Racking
Delivered on customer premises 3 people max per course.
A suitable machine, loads and an enclosed area will be required for the sole use of the training.
- Novice - 4-5 days
- Experienced – 2-3 days
- Refresher – one day
- Courses aimed at candidates with previous experience and familiarisation with the operation of the machine. For Refresher/Experience courses, candidates must provide satisfactory evidence of existing skills and certification.
