Working in our specialist photography studios, you will gain skills that are commercially relevant for a variety of roles in the photography industry.
Our photography courses will prepare you equally well for employment or self-employment, or for progression to a degree at university. We will support you to become confident in how to manage your time, resources and workflow and encourage you to explore a wide range of photographic techniques.

Our lecturing staff will apply all their industry knowledge and teaching experience to help you on the road to a successful career in this field whether you wish to be a self-employed freelancer or to work for others.
Progress to a degree
You can start at SCQF Level 4 (the equivalent to National 4s) and progress through HNC/HND and on to year 3 of a degree at one of our partner universities or move into employment.
So studying at Fife College can be a more cost-effective, local alternative route to the same degree in Scotland, in the same amount of time!

HNC: Photography SCQF Level 7
The HNC is exactly the same as the HND year 1 but allows successful students the option to leave with an HNC or continue on to the HND year 2. This is a highly practical course where your creative photographic techniques will develop along with your technical and practical skillsets. Working in our dedicated photography studios you will acquire skills that are commercially relevant for a variety of roles in the photography industry. Working on your own and with others on live briefs will prepare you equally well for employment or self-employment or for progression to a degree at university. We will support you to become confident in how to manage your time, resources and workflow and encourage you to explore a wide range of photographic techniques.
HND: Photography SCQF Level 8
This is a highly practical course where your creative photographic techniques will develop along with your technical and practical skillsets. Working in our dedicated photography studios and on location, you will acquire skills that are essential for professional/ commercial success. Working on your own and with others on a variety of challenging photography briefs will prepare you equally well for employment or self-employment. This course also prepares you for progression to a degree at university. We will support you to become confident in how to manage your time, resources and photographic workflow and encourage you to explore a wide range of photographic techniques including Darkroom/Wet Process using film and paper.
Advanced Certificate: Photography
Unlock your photography potential with our Advanced Certificate course. Perfect for confident shooters and beginners alike, you will explore new techniques, discover handy tips, and build an impressive portfolio. You will work in our studios and on exciting location shoots. Let's take your skills to the next level together!
Certificate: Photography
The SCQF Level 4 course is for those exploring digital photography careers or higher study. It teaches camera basics, lighting manipulation, composition, and portfolio building through assignments. No exams, only project-based assessment.
Intermediate Certificate: Photography
This February Start course teaches photography skills for all levels, emphasising natural captures. From social media to advertising, learn techniques like portraiture and editing. Guided by instructors and peers, build a portfolio for career advancement.
