Striving to achieve Net Zero, together
At Fife College, our ambition is clear – to become and remain a leader within sustainability and tackling the climate emergency. Our Net Zero Action plan commits Fife College to becoming Net Zero (scope 1, 2 and 3) by 2035, 10 years earlier than the Scottish Government and the Fife region.
Fife College is a Race to Zero signatory, which means we recognise the climate emergency and the need to take urgent action. This is bolstered further by Fife Council’s Climate Emergency declaration, and the Scottish Government’s new initiative which requires all public sector buildings to be Net Zero by 2038.
Our Strategic Ambition
“Fife College will be a leader in tackling the climate emergency, embedding sustainability and social responsibility for climate change into everything we do, how we work and what we deliver. We will equip our students and staff with the skills and knowledge to drive action and progress green skills in the economy, to shape a more sustainable future for all.”
Our Key Aims
-
embedding social responsibility for climate change in everything we do
-
ensuring that we reach Net Zero by 2035 and are resilient to the effects of climate change in a just and equitable way (ten years ahead of the Scottish Government’s target.)
-
equipping our students to shape a more sustainable future with sustainable skills training to expand, at pace, essential green skills in the economy
