Mentor-Focused Leadership Skills Programme 

The Mentor-Focused Leadership Programme is a key component of the Hospitality Skills Project under the Tay Cities Deal. It aims to strengthen leadership capacity, improve recruitment and retention, and support inclusive growth across the hospitality sector.  

• Develop leadership and mentoring capabilities to improve workforce stability and progression.  
• Support recruitment and retention by creating a positive, inclusive culture in hospitality businesses.  
• Enable strategic management skills for adapting to new business models post-COVID and Brexit.  

1. Mentor-focused leadership training: Structured programme for supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders with emphasis on coaching and inclusive leadership.  
2. Employer-led approach: Delivered in partnership with hospitality businesses to ensure relevance, and integrated with advanced skills training (SCQF Level 8–11).  
3. Regional leadership infrastructure: Establishment of a Regional Hospitality Leadership Group and Employers Forum to guide priorities and share best practice. 

• Programme development: 2025–2026  
• Launch and implementation by 31 December 2026  
• Continuous improvement and integration with other training streams through 2030. 

• Improved recruitment and retention rates in the hospitality sector.  
• Increased diversity in leadership roles (targeting women, BME, disabled individuals).  
• Stronger employer-education partnerships for sustainable leadership development.  
• Contribution to inclusive growth and Fair Work principles across the region.
