Grant Funded Opportunity
Through the School Intervention grant funding will support schools to bring hospitality into the classroom by developing practical, industry focused training and showcasing diverse rolls to years 4, 5 and 6.
Applications are now open for the School Intervention workstream for the following dates in 2026/27:
- 23rd March 2026 – 1st May 2026
- 17th August 2026 – 11th September 2026 (subject to funding)
To be eligible for this funding, the proposed training must directly support the skills needs of the hospitality sector or encourage engagement and support towards career opportunities within the hospitality sector and be delivered by a recognised skills training or education provider.
Applications for grant funding can be received from Schools and Developing Young Workforce Representatives for 2026/2027 and will support them to bring hospitality into the schools by developing practical, industry focused training and showcasing diverse roles

• Inspire young people to consider hospitality careers.
• Embed hospitality skills into school education.
• Create clear pathways from school to employment.
• Direct interventions in schools: Deliver hospitality-focused activities during the academic year (Target: full implementation by 2026/27).
• Engage with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) and Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to amplify opportunities.
• Foundation Apprenticeships and taster sessions: Offer SCQF Level 4–6 hospitality courses and practical experiences.
• Career pathway visibility: Promote progression routes from school to college, apprenticeships, and higher education.
• Increased participation of schools in hospitality skills activities by Year 2 and Year 3.
• Improved awareness and uptake of hospitality careers among young people.
• Contribution to long-term goals of 1,200 individuals trained and 120 supported into employment by 2030.
