Students from Fife College’s Intermediate Certificate in Business Enterprise, Accounting and Legal course have raised an impressive £434 for CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland).

The funds were raised through an event that was entirely planned and delivered by the students, showcasing the practical application of their business and enterprise skills. The event featured a mix of activities, including a raffle, tombola, quiz, fun games, a pet stall, innovative 3D products, and a Re-Love It stall promoting sustainability and conscious consumerism.

Support from the community played a vital role in the event’s success. Local business owner Nicole Dyce of Coco Melts and Isaac Morgan of 3D Printing lent their expertise and support, while numerous businesses donated generously to the cause. Among the contributors were Edinburgh Zoo, Adventure Golf Island, Glee Comedy Club, Fife Deer Centre, and many more.

In addition to the funds raised, the students also donated the leftover stock from their Re-Love It stall to CHAS’s charity shop in Kinross, a gesture that not only extended the impact of the original event but also reinforced the students' commitment to sustainability and community support.

Karen Dyce, lecturer for the course, expressed her pride in the students’ efforts. She said:

“I am incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work the students demonstrated throughout this enterprise project.

“It was truly inspiring to see them apply the skills they’ve developed in a real-world context through planning, fundraising, and promoting awareness for the invaluable work carried out by CHAS.

“Their commitment and enthusiasm not only made a meaningful impact but also showcased their growth, creativity, and teamwork.”
